CRCA MEDIA POLICY

CRCA Photography Policy – Updated 8/23

The Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association forbids any pictures taken for the use of paid commercial distribution through websites, social media or other outlets.  Professional Photographers, as defined by individuals who have or will have images for sale, are not permitted to photograph without written permission by the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association.  No photographers other than the official photographer and Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association staff may take pictures in the ring or from the rail.

Professional photography equipment, cameras with lenses longer than 4 inches, tripods, monopods, will not be permitted except for credentialed media and those holding press passes (to take pictures outside the ring only).  Additionally, watermarked photography will be considered professional photography and will not be allowed to be posted on any media outlets by anyone other than CRCA or the official photographer.  

Photographers representing newspapers, magazines, websites, and other media, with purpose of appearing in print and online placements, must apply for media credentials and be

approved by CRCA. Credentials are required for gathering content on site. Applying for a

media credential is agreement that your photos and videos will only be used for media

purposes and will not be sold or given away to exhibitors, visitors, non-media businesses, or for

any use on social media, promotions, or advertising. Proof of assignment must be provided

with the application. There is no fee for credentials for approved members of the media.

Photos and videos for marketing, advertising, and commercial purposes are available for purchase from the CRCA Official Photographer Performance Horse Photography.  With an agreement this purchased content may be used for print advertising, promotion, marketing and other revenue-generating purposes for a product, service, business, stallion, etc.

CRCA may, at its sole discretion, eject and/or indefinitely ban from CRCA events anyone who provides, or intends to use photos in violation of this policy.
